I love his use of 'hip-hop montages' (the 'extremely short shots' technique as you've mentioned above), Snorricam shots and of course the unforgettably haunting OST.

Some more trivia from imdb:
- Most movies contain 600 to 700 cuts. Requiem for a Dream contains over 2,000.
- Premiere voted this movie as one of "The 25 Most Dangerous Movies".

Other movies on addiction? I can think of Basketball Diaries, Traffic, Midnight Cowboy...and oh the twisted Naked Lunch from the twisted mind of David Cronenberg.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04631883796253325949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272875061575494879.post-27715414594114580832010-01-02T12:14:04.527-08:002010-01-02T12:14:04.527-08:00Hey Pradeep..thanks a lot for your observations.Fi...Hey Pradeep..thanks a lot for your observations.First of all, sorry to hear about Rachel Weiss..;D

About giving too much of the story away, you must understand that my blog is not a movie review blog per se, but an analysis forum where I give my personal take on the storyline. It's only by giving the details of characters and development of the story that the subsequent paragraphs where I give my observations would make sense to a reader who has not watched the movie. For a reader who has watched the movie, again, it works to his/her advantage as the experience of re-living the movie comes forth and the analysis sets itself clearer with greater scope for visualization. In a nutshell, my blog is a complete movie experience in itself. I like him so much, I have even forgiven him for stealing away Rachel Weiss.

One observation about your post. You have given too much of the story away. Perhaps you should try to write in such a way that you build up a longing to watch the movie, and yet you have given absolutely nothing away. Just a suggestion of course. It is your blog!Pradeephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14525040150785260962noreply@blogger.com
